SCHMIDT'S WOODS PARK
Mill Ridge Road, Secaucus, Hudson County, NJ

Directions:

New Jersey Turnpike south; exit 16W for Route 3 east; get off at the exit for Paterson Plank Road; head north on Paterson Plank Road to near its end; turn right onto Farm Road; turn right on Meadow Lane which heads into Mill Ridge Road; shortly after passing Luhmann Terrace on the right turn right into the park entrance. 


Habitats:

part of the park is dedicated to recreation, but most of it is woodland; remnant of lowland forest.


Facilities:

picnic grounds, children's playground, access to the pools with water slides, Fit-Trail, walking path.

No dogs allowed.


Trails:

12/15/2004.  This is a small park.  There is a short circular wood-chip loop through the woods, which also serves as the Fit-Trail.  There are lots of ephemeral ponds and lots of sweetgum and red maple.  There are also a lot of oaks.
