HAMBURG MOUNTAIN
Sussex County, NJ

I don't really think this is a very good place. It is just a highlands forest habitat. There are no views, noisy highway part of the way, and no water (except a dried-up stream). The path doesn't really seem to go anywhere except straight, except one side path down to a valley.

Other Sites:

The Franklin Mineral Museum and Mine Replica is located at Evans Street (off Route 23), Franklin 07416. The Franklin-Ogdensburg area has yielded a greater number of species (340) and varieties (360) of minerals than any other location in the world. Zinc mining stopped here in 1954.

The Sterling Hill Mine and Museum is located at 30 Plant Street, Ogdensburg 07439. The mine was New Jersey's last operating zinc mine. It is now a National Historic Site. In addition to exhibits, displays and historical buildings, there is an underground mine tour. Ogdensburg is located on Rt 517 off of Route 23.
