COPPER MINES TRAIL
Old Mine Road, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Warren County, NJ


Directions:

US 80 west to Exit 1 and Old Mine Road north. 2.7 miles north of the signal light at the one lane part of Old Mine Road is the southern boundary of Worthington State Forest.  7.1 miles north of the signal light is the entrance to the Cooper Mines Parking Area.


History:

There used to be mines in this area. They can be reached via the red-blazed Copper Mine Trail.

Across Old Mine Road is an historical marker honoring the Old Mine Road.


Trails:

There is a counterclockwise tour available here. Take the left spur trail to the Kaiser Trail that takes the hiker to the AT north of Mt. Mohican. Take the AT north and pick up the Coppermine Trail near Yards Creek and Mohican Road.
