A swamp adjacent to a 36-acre lake is kept alive by Tibbetts Brook, a little stream that meanders down from Yonkers. The swamp, the wooded portions of the park, and a small cattail marsh; that has been granted state wetland status to insure its protection; attract a variety of birds.
