CEDAR SWAMP PRESERVE
Southeast, Putnam County, NY

Directions:

Follow the directions for Birdwood Preserve in Southeast because Cedar Swamp Preserve is only accesssible through the other preserve. US 287 to US 684 north; exit 10; at light go straight through the intersection; turn right on Starr Ridge Road; drive .875 miles and (shortly after passing Friendly Road), turn left onto Cobb Road; drive .375 of a mile and pull over on the right just after a hidden bridge marked by small white fence posts (just before Peach Brook Lane).

In this same area are the Paul Fitchen and Birdwood Preserves.

History:

Owned by Putnam Land Trust.

I walked south of the Birdwood Preserve.  There is no clear demarcation between Birdwood Preserve and the land south of it as far as I could see.  And I did not see any Atlantic white cedars.
