18.5 acres

From Roxbury Town Hall, take Route 67 north for 0.5 miles and turn right onto Route 199. Take the first left onto Judd's Bridge Road for 1.2 miles. The preserve entrance is on the right, between two stone pillars, just after the bridge over a stream.

Judd's Bridge Road is a dirt and gravel road.  For part of its journey it parallels the Shepaug River on its right (when heading north).

1987  --  6 acres of land was a gift of Ethan Allen.

This is an easy walk 1.35 miles from Judd's Bridge Road to Battle Swamp Road and back. The trail passes alongside Battle Swamp Brook for two-thirds of its length, then continues through some light forest and brush, and over a stone wall to come out on Battle Swamp Road. From Judd's Bridge Road to Battle Swamp Road is approximately .68 miles. There is no parking on Battle Swamp Road, but there is pedestrian access. Walking along Battle Swamp Road from Wakelee Road, the preserve entrance is on the left, marked by a Roxbury Land Trust sign.
